The Nintendo DS system is definitely a break-through in hand-held gaming consoles; the innovative touch screen provides functions not available anywhere else, expanding both creativity and interactivity in general and frankly, it's just awesome. Play The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass if you want to experience the endless possibilities a touch screen has!
My only gripes are that the system (sans screen) scratches easily from normal use, and that it isn't backwards compatible to GB/GBC games but hey--can't have everything and it undoubtedly won't matter to the majority of consumers.
